Western Kingbird Eating a Grasshopper

It's common for a bird to reposition prey in its beak by tossing it up and then catching it. The bird must, of course, account for the wind when it does so.
On the day I photographed this western kingbird, the wind was quite strong, so instead of tossing the grasshopper vertically, the bird was throwing it nearly horizontally upwind, then catching it as it blew back.
