| Caption | A spectacular blue iceberg floats among the mist in Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska, on July 23, 2024. The iceberg had just rolled; the clear ice was, until quite recently, underwater, and the water had melted away the crust of dirty snow that many bergs have. Just pure, clear ice was left. The blue color comes from the ice selectively absorbing longer-wavelength red and yellow light, leaving a teal tint. | |
