Caption | A multiple-vortex tornado enters the western edge of Selden, Kansas, on May 24, 2021. One vortex, partially condensed in its lower portion, can be seen to the left of the highway. To the right, another vortex, lacking a condensed core, is evident only by the debris it is lifting. A storm chaser watches from the highway shoulder. Down the road, an 18-wheel truck can be seen driving towards the tornado. Not recognizing the danger from the poorly-condensed but still powerful vortices, the truck continued and was soon toppled and rolled into a ditch. | |
